Jocelyn Andrews, a shy, awkward, high school senior, has never even been on a date until she meets Alex Jordon, the older, more experienced brother of her best friend Evan. Jocelyn falls hard for the charming player and wants to explore all of the ?firsts? that go along with young love. Alex has no problem showing her what she's been missing.Jocelyn Andrews is a senior in high school, works at a coffee shop, has a guy for a best friend and has never been kissed. Being awkward and shy doesn?t really bring the boy knocking her front door but one unexpected run in with her best friend?s older brother changes everything.
Alex is captivated by young, innocent Jocelyn and to his own surprise, only has eyes for her. One night of careless passion leads to a life-altering dilemma. Alex must head back to Yale to finish an internship, having no idea what he's left behind. Jocelyn must decide what to do on her own, forcing her to grow up much faster than she anticipated.
Reality sets in, decisions are made and Jocelyn has to live with her choices. Alex returns home to more than he ever bargained for. Young love has never been more complicated as they deal with a teen pregnancy, social barriers, and concerned family members. Life sometimes throws a curve ball, but the unexpected isn't always bad.
Alex Jordon had just come home from Yale for a four month stent before starting an internship in Connecticut, arriving home to find the beauty that is Jocelyn in his families? kitchen has him asking her out on her first date.
With nerves flying high and her dad breathing down her neck Jocelyn and Alex head out on their first date and to her surprise he asks her out again. Over the four months that Alex is home their relationship grows and Jocelyn decides that Alex is the one she wants to lose her virginity to but one night of carless drunken unprotected sex leads to two pink lines and Jocelyn has to make a tough choice. Jocelyn has to not only bare the news that she is going to be a mother alone but has to make some hard decisions that may or may not change her future with Alex without the help of her family or her friends for fear that Alex will find out before she has the chance to tell him.
Ella Jade does a great job with a very hard subject in Jocelyn?s Choice. Jocelyn is an eighteen year old virgin who takes a risk at dating the very good looking, rich, playboy Alex Jordon. The instant chemistry is obvious as they hang on each other?s every word and become attached at the hip. When Jocelyn decides that she is in love with Alex and wants to sleep with him he takes it slow and gives her some ?lessons? but never tells her exactly how he feels about her. When Alex shows up drunk on her doorstep in the middle of the night they both get caught up in the moment. Alex returns to Yale leaving Jocelyn home to find out that she is pregnant alone. Ella Jade is able to show us the internal struggle that Jocelyn faces, she wants to tell the man she loves she pregnant but she doesn?t want him to jeopardize his future, she knows he will board a plane and head home the moment he finds out. Jocelyn?s Choice is an emotion roller coaster ride that shows the struggles of a teenager trying to come to terms with the new life growing inside of her and having to put all of her future plans on hold. I enjoyed the way Jocelyn?s Choice didn?t sugar coat how important a girls first time is and how hard teen pregnancy is on not only the mommy to be but the father to be and the grandparents. I thought poor Jocelyn?s dad was going to have a stroke. The only thing that I questioned was the YA rating, it?s definitely eighteen and above because the sex scenes are hot and very well written. If you are looking for a heartwarming coming of age story I recommend Jocelyn?s Choice, it definitely kept this reviewer up until the wee hours of the night to see what was going to happen next.
